About the Book

Money is God. Why? Because we kill for money in the name of Satan. We also pray for money in the name of God.

I'm sure my title, Money is God, will be both lauded and assailed, but one thing's for sure and that is money is necessary. For example, those who have little to no money also lack the opportunities that come with having access to money.

While those who have access to money also have a greater opportunity to economically rise. This creates a situation of the haves and have-nots. Those who have continued to grow, using the American tool of money to get ahead, obtaining power, and wanting more.

Money is God is about a young man named Victory who hails from West Oak Lane Philadelphia. Unbeknownst to Victory, his close friend Jimmy initiates Victory into an elite family that is entirely immersed in Philadelphia's narcotics distribution. This propels Victory toward life-and-death circumstances in a dangerous urban environment, taking a toll on both Victory's body and mind.

Victory becomes the only surviving victim in a high-profile homicide. Blood sprays Victory's face as he witnesses his loved ones' skulls slop like wet paint.

Victory's perspective on life misconstrues in disarray. Physically and psychologically, his life descends into debauchery, obsessive greed, and revenge.

Now a full-fledged savage in the pursuit of monetary gain, Victory no longer recognizes himself. Even his mother is frightened by the sight of her own baby boy's face. As Victory struggles to dominate and conquer the underworld of money, power, sex, and drugs, he flourishes on a level of street supremacy that few can only fantasize about.

Money is God begins in North Philadelphia in the summer of 1993, with Susquehanna Avenue serving as its backdrop. Victory is the main character and also the prize hustler on Sus Q Ave.

Though Victory was raised in the uptown, he adopted the ways of the streets after being taken under the wing of an influential visionary gangster named Jim, who now leads Victory to Olympic ghetto gold - and a fabulous lifestyle of fame.

On the precipice of Victory's victorious Dope Man inauguration, he experiences tragedy in such a way that he becomes emotionless and detached from the grips of reality. Pain and anguish cause Victory's mind to warp, bend, and snap, which causes Victory to release an orgy of blood that floods the American streets with unforgiving slaughter and gun-toting rage.

Come, journey with Victory deep into the underworld of North Philadelphia, as well as countless cities and towns, as he transforms from a morally upstanding individual into a gun-slinging, women-adorned, murder and money-making machine.
