Scandite dal tranquillo trascorrere delle ore di una delle ripetitive giornate castresi, le vicende di tale protagonista quasi depresso si svolgono fra luci e ombre. Principalmente nei sogni in cui egli né pensa né parla, Antonio assapora la gioiosità delle popolate contrade del borgo medioevale; annunciata anche dai profumi momentaneamente assenti o dagli inanimati avanzanti elementi, essa svanisce nel silenzioso paesino odierno tanto caro quanto ostile. Soltanto un intermedio ingenuo autistico che corre attraversando le abbandonate campagne, prospicienti Castrovalva, può arrivare a quella destinazione che esiste unicamente nel preconscio dell'asperger dotato di intelligenza straordinaria.In questa rappresentazione particolareggiata dei propri luoghi nativi, Mastrodomenico rinuncia né ai suoi toni autoironici né al suo umorismo eccezionale; la velata drammaticità, non permea l'avvincente viaggio nel mondo perduto.Consapevole sia delle sue potenzialità che dei suoi problemi, Mastrodomenico immagina "Il Mondo Perduto" e si prefigge di esporre ulteriormente la sua approfondita conoscenza pressoché unica della sindrome di Asperger. Nel giugno 2013, il valido scrittore inizia a stendere questo romanzo immediatamente successivo a "I Colori dell'Esistenza". Avvolti dal riverberato scalpiccio degli scarponi impolverati da sottili detriti secolari, i padiglioni auricolari del viandante solitario raccolgono la sussurrante brezza sibilante fra le parallele fiancheggianti case; circa ininterrottamente allineate, esse esalano antichi effluvi""Castrovalva, abbracciando esiliantisi residenti, spande fragranze richiamanti voci estinte. Nessuno riesce a superare l'ignorato speditamente rielaborante asperger, anche percependo le polisensoriali contaminate stimolazioni. L'asperger compromette sia l'apprendimento immediato che le interazioni sociali; la normalità, inibisce qualsivoglia forma di sinestesia che si unisce alla genialità giammai regnante"
