Who is this book for?
This book is for anyone wishing to learn how to use Chinese for speaking, reading and
writing. The information contained within volumes 1 and 2 is enough to pass HSK 5, but the
books themselves are designed to get non-native speakers to actually use Chinese on a day-
to-day basis. You might want to send messages, write emails, conduct in-depth
conversations, or give presentations in Chinese. If so, then volume 1 provides all the grammar
needed to communicate with native Chinese people at a basic to intermediate level.
How to use the book:
The book is divided into 140 units, and after every 7 units there is a summary page that can
be used to review what has been studied. For volume 2, students can add depth and weight
to their spoken and written Chinese. If students do not have a basic grasp of Chinese
grammar, then volume 1 is recommended before commencement of volume 2.
By the end of this book, students should be able to talk and write to an intermediate
and advanced level. Students will certainly be able to sit HSK 5 test and feel confident of
passing.
