Einführung "To mob" (aus dem Englischen) bedeutet "sich auf etwas stürzen, über etwas/jemanden herfallen". Anfang der 90er Jahre verwendete der schwedische Psychologe Prof. Dr. Heinz Laymann als erster Wissenschaftler den Begriff "Mobbing" für den "Psychoterror am Arbeitsplatz". Mobbing ist ein inzwischen arbeitswissenschaftlich anerkannter Begriff, der einen bestimmten Typ von Konflikten beschreibt. 2. Begriffsdefinition Der Begriff Mobbing ist seit geraumer Zeit in fast allen Unternehmen thematisiert worden. Oftmals werden damit jedoch Konflikte dramatisiert, die diesen Begriff nicht verdienen. Das deutsche Arbeitsrecht sieht daher vor, das von Mobbing erst gesprochen wird sobald die Konfliktsituation mit dem Arbeitnehmer, in Hinsicht auf die Intensität, Schwere und Systematik, den alltäglichen beruflichen Ärger übersteigt. Mobbing ist eine konfliktbelastete Kommunikation am Arbeitsplatz unter Kollegen oder zwischen Vorgesetzten und Untergebenen, bei der die angegriffene Person unterlegen ist und von einer oder mehreren Personen systematisch, oft oder während einer längeren Zeit, mit dem Ziel oder dem Effekt des Ausstoßens aus dem Arbeitsverhältnis direkt oder indirekt angegriffen wird und dies als Diskriminierung empfindet. Die Auswirkungen der Schikanen und Anfeindungen bleiben nicht auf den Arbeitsplatz beschränkt: Sie reichen bis in das Privatleben hinein und oft wird der Gemobbte sogar krank. Mittlerweile erkennen auch immer mehr Arbeitnehmer die Verluste die das Mobbing mit sich bringt.
