Examensarbeit aus dem Jahr 2005 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Heilpädagogik, Sonderpädagogik, Note: 1,0, Studienseminar Lüneburg für das Lehramt für Sonderpädagogik, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die von 1500 bis 1800 bestimmende "Pauk"- und Memorierschule ist heute weitgehend überwunden, weil sie für die Bewältigung komplexer Lernaufgaben offensichtlich nicht ausreicht (Meyer, 2003). Dennoch müssen Kinder heute durch Veränderungen der Lernumwelt und eine immer komplexer werdende Informationsgesellschaft eine Vielzahl von Informationen aufnehmen und präsent haben. Ich schließe mich der These von Meyer (2003) an, die besagt, dass Schüler und Schülerinnen heute immer mehr und schneller lernen müssen, wodurch sie auch immer weniger gründlich lernen. Die Notwendigkeit, Informationen dauerhaft abzuspeichern und sicher reproduzieren zu können, wird deutlich, wenn man bedenkt, dass gerade zur Lösung komplexer Lernaufgaben spezifisches Faktenwissen benötigt wird (Wippich, 1984). Folgendes Zitat untermauert diesen Standpunkt: "A good memory is essential for intelligence and creativity" (Morris, 1979, S. 52). Die Behaltensleistungen von Schülern mit sonderpädagogischem Förderbedarf im Schwerpunkt Ler-nen sind im Vergleich mit gleichaltrigen Regelschülern signifikant schlechter und diese Defizite in der Gedächtnisleistung werden als bedeutsame Ursache unterdurchschnittlicher kognitiver Leistungsfähigkeit gesehen (Büttner, 1998). Es stellt sich also die Frage, ob es spezifische Unterrichtsmethoden oder Lerntechniken gibt, die Schü-lern bei der Einspeicherung und dem Abruf von bedeutendem Faktenwissen hilfreich sein können. Mnemotechniken (Techniken, die bei der Speicherung und dem Abruf von Wissen helfen können) werden in nahezu allen bedeutenden Veröffentlichungen zur Verbesserung von Lern- und Gedächtnis-leistungen beschrieben und als effektiv bewertet.
