Die Motivation der Mitarbeiter spielt eine entscheidende Rolle für ein erfolgreiches Veränderungsprojekt. Gerade dieser Punkt wird aber oft nicht, oder nicht ausreichend beachtet und stattdessen wird die ganze Arbeit auf die fachliche und technische Ebene konzentriert. Mangelnde Informationen, Ungewissheit und schlechtes Führungsverhalten führen leicht zu einer Verweigerungshaltung und Demotivation der Mitarbeiter. Die erfolgreiche und schnelle Einführung von neuen EDV-Systemen kann aber nur gewährleistet werden, wenn dies mit Unterstützung der Mitarbeiter geschieht. Sie sind es letztlich, die neue Systeme zum Funktionieren bringen müssen. Ein neues System alleine reicht also nicht aus um die Produktivität und Effizienz zu steigern. Vielmehr muss das System von den Mitarbeitern verstanden, akzeptiert und sinnvoll angewandt werden.
