Garland gets on the radio and calls it in. He hears, "This is Seahorse 2-1. How can I help you?" Monique says, "A submarine can't help us." Garland says into the radio, "Seahorse 2-1, what are you?" "Just look over your heads." Monique said, "That's a small plane. He couldn't even kill us in that. What do you think he can do?"
"He can bring fire and brimstone down on you if he wants to." Garland said. "Seahorse 2-1, we have enemy soldiers in the valley. Can you take care of them?"
"This is Seahorse 2-1; I have a ship that needs a mission. How soon can your men clear the area?"
Garland said, "About five mikes" (minutes)." "This is Seahorse 2-1; it will take about five mikes for the ship to punch in a shooting solution. The ordinance on this ship is new. They might be a little wild. They are about a mile off the coast and I need salt and pepper."
Monique asks, "Why does he need salt and pepper? We don't have any salt and pepper. He couldn't land and get it from us even if we had some."
I looked at Monique and said, "Salt and pepper are the panels we put out for friendly troop positions." Monique said, "We don't have any panels." Garland removes two flags from his pack.
Seahorse 2-1 said, "I see your panels. I am switching over to the ship's frequency and giving them six-digit coordinates. The valley has been wiped out. It looks like some of the fighters are climbing up the mountains."
I asked, "Seahorse 2-1, what is your name and your outfit?" I hear "This is Seahorse 2-1; my outfit is the 183rd Aviation Company. My name is Cpt. Donald Tyler. Do you need any more assistance?"
I said, "Seahorse 2-1, thanks for your help."
