About the Book

FOR THE 500th ANNIVERSARY OF THE REFORMATION, the novel begins with a dream of a third-century bishop being beheaded. To the horror of the onlookers, the holy man picked up his own head and began to march, prophesying about the future of Christendom....

This leads to the main storyline where a series of dreams convince Texas pastor, Ken Kirk, that God is sending him on a mission to Rome as a new Martin Luther, to convert the Catholics to Biblical Christianity. This sudden mission is breaking Bible Baptist Church into liberal and conservative factions. Ken has enemies who exploit this moment.
Once in the Eternal City, Pastor Ken's evangelism encounters the grit of the breathtaking Felda Agnelli. An enigmatic priest, Father Ambro, joins them to unearth Rome's buried history and confront Christianity's most dangerous enemy.

 Think you understand the Reformation?
This Mission trilogy gives surprising answers to the yearning questions of mankind's heart.
About the Author: Born into a wealthy and influential Texas family, Teresa Beem began life digging in the dirt behind her parent's mansion with solid sterling silver baroque spoons and visiting her grandfather at his company-owned Dallas skyscraper--the LTV Tower. She remembers watching "Leave it to Beaver" and thinking that the Cleavers must the type of poor people they gave their offerings to in church. (Mrs. Cleaver had no maids! And their house was so tiny!) In her early adulthood, their family's money disappeared and she had to adjust to a new reality of normalcy. And the trip from riches to rags (almost), has given her an interesting and unusual perspective. From her happy and innocent childhood perch, Teresa witnessed how the revolution of the 1960s and 1970s profoundly reshaped the culture. While still very young, she began fighting back against what she believed to be a new Dark Age with involvement in church and the community. In elementary school she organized small sit-ins, protests, a muscular dystrophy benefit carnival in her front yard, as well as tried her hand at poetry. She wrote, directed and starred in plays, staged in the foyer of her home. She was heartbroken to be sent away to a parochial boarding school where she tried to survive the homesickness and separation from her parents and siblings. There, she met her handsome husband and the two bonded with music, Teresa being a lyric soprano and Arthur, her boyfriend, being a second tenor and fabulous trumpet player. After marriage, Teresa founded and ran a pro-life organization for two decades. Having been married for over thirty years and homeschooled three children, she has come to believe that our cultural wound is not where most American Christians assume it is. The Mission Trilogy, starting with Mission Vatican, is her philosophical magnum opus, based in wisdom she has diligently sought during her very unusual life.
