This is a story about my life, how I fought all odds against me to come out on top and finally found Love, who is now my source of Joy. Although some may feel their story is the worse but listening to another person's own would make you shed some tears due to the huddles they've crossed and how they still remain in shambles still without any victory but turmoil all year round.
My name is Sassy Elliot, I was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Colgar and Molly Elliot, on a night of total eclipse, 30th December 1982, when the sun and the Moon aligned. My parents knew that day that they had not just given birth to a girl but to a special human with a great destiny.
After me, my parents also gave birth to a boy who at all times is a pain in my ass as we grow up and he would always lie in order to get me into trouble, which always led to me being grounded many times by my parents while he would be walking freely on the street, playing with friends and families he desires. But due to my love and affection for my brother, I see this as a form of being the elder sister despite feeling hurt some of the times when he gets away with his lies.
Then comes our last child who is always not ready to do anything but sits back to enjoy the comfort my parents gave her as the last child. She is someone who loves to play alone, despite my presence around her, she wouldn't even think twice before diving straight into the pool of toys she has because the toys I and my brothers couldn't use again and the new ones my parents bought for her is at her call and beckon.
At 12 years old, I already have the knowledge of whom my father was and what is going on in the family but if anyone asked my Mum about how happy she is in her marriage, she would always protect her husband's reputation of being a philanthropist in the society, despite him being a wife beater and an abuser.
I remembered one of the days he came back from work almost drunk and my mum was trying to help, I never knew someone could be wrong trying to help a drunk man until that day, he literally use her face as a punching bag, gave her a double layered eye brows with some tears as design on her chin and lips. This particularly kept repeating itself on and on.
Another one also occurred in the deep of the night, although I was so tired and fell asleep early because I came home late and was only able to meet my portion of the dinner in the fridge. Half an hour later into my sleep, I was awakened by sudden loud rumbles of sound in the house, that could wake a dead man if placed within our house premises but I heard footsteps almost immediately thundering down the stairs and the next voice I heard was my brother's " don't kill Mummy" he screamed, "somebody help! Somebody help!! Somebody help!!!, by the time I would get to the landing, as a teenager that I was and as the only child that understands a little to do when such an incidence occurred, he already defaced my Mum and she had been wrecked by his punches, lying helpless on the floor. She was covered with the blood from the bruises caused by My Dad, how could I ever forget such a day, I tried to separate my dad from my mum to rescue what was left of her and to quickly call the emergency lines for help but I was not having the strength to even move myself not to talk of my Mum.
My brother kept on yelling at my dad, saying, "You are a Bad dad and a shit head, a fucking dumb, I hate you, why don't you go away and leave us alone?" My father in little or No remorse left the scene and went straight to his room. On trying to reach out for help, Mum asked me not to that she was the one at fault and that I would also understand when I grow old.
