Ostentoso le miro en lo alto que revolotea en mi alma, lleno de gozo y nadie le ve. Cómo llegar a volar si no tengo alas de esas firmes que hagan piruetas en el aire y llegue a la vista de todos, hasta de las míseras hormigas que cualquiera cree que las pisotean, laboriosas vienen y van, parecen locas, pero así se buscan el pan en forma cautelosa. Qué curiosas son que en su andar parece que chocan y con su carga en los hombros les avisan a las otras donde están los almacenes que le puede suministrar los alimentos ¡bendito su mundo de unidad y hermandad! Valoro en esa ave su firmeza, es erguida, da la impresión que carece de ese orgullo mal habido en su desarrollo promotor, vuela tan incansable que no tiene para cuando parar. Es que en su volar lo hace como si estuviera repartiendo amor. Cualquiera piensa que la vida en vez de una tuerca ha puesto un motor y sigue, sigue, nada le detiene en su afán de lograr lo que persigue. Suspiros y suspiros se escapan al pensar en el nido, que otro venga de mala fe y lo desbarata. La naturaleza pródiga es muy sensata y le hace ver lo maravilloso que ante sus ojos delata. Mirlo se llama esta mujer que al nacer su madre casi le mata, tan fuertes esos dolores de parto con sus contracciones que no pensó bien entre malas condiciones, sobre una yegua sin montura, a ella se subió y corría despavorida hasta la casa de la partera más cercana, peligrando ambas vidas. Veterana era como le decían a aquel animal que la vida de ambas pudo salvar. Acomodó su cuerpo como si fuera una cama y por su pelo le sacó, así supo al mundo venir, sostenida por la mano de su madre, sostenida del aire que le regala su primer vuelo, debía seguir a la protección de lo que la vida quería brindarle. El pobre animal sabía de la situación y sus patas delanteras, en su carrera veloz, bebía su sed de llegar frente a la partera, al fin se vio a Mirlo y ella acunó entre sus manos, era un trinar soberano, como jamás nadie escuchó, parecía el susurro del llanto, una tonada de cantos con supremacía al amor ese que recién nacido olía a jazmín despierto como el madrugador sueño vespertino, mosquitero de luz que les pudo ofrecer. Unos papeles le cubrieron todo su cuerpo y que no tuviera frio, lacerando su tierno plumaje de laureles. Su cabecita introdujo en el cuello maternal, suspiros y alientos que sabían a cuna. Veterana le vio feliz a Mirlo y satisfecha de su gran labor, al pasto verde fue a apreciar su sabor hasta hartarse y un repiqueo de cantos de aves, le vinieron a dar un saludo, montándose sobre su lomo, hasta la hicieron molestar ya que su comida estaba saboreando y a todos no les podía su acción explicar y los curiosos que eran todos esos coloridos y revoltosos pájaros de campiñas querían saber de su nuevo huésped. Un rabotazo le tuvo que dar para que la dejaran tranquila ¡Qué feliz era la llegada a la vida! A la luz, al sol, a la tierra que le abría sus brazos, el arcoíris brindándoles sus colores tiernos, sintieron dolor por ese color perdido en la gama de colores, de haberlo tenido también se lo hubiesen regalado. La naturaleza entera se ofreció a darle la bienvenida e hicieron una ceremonia de gala bajo las estrellas que descendieron en forma de pájaro con esperanzas blancas, símbolo de la paz que a veces no se logra ni se alcanza. Toda una constelación de luces bajó formando un infinito en el aire, parecía que danzaban de contento abrazando al rabo de nube para descender hasta donde estaba Mirlo, que supiera que hasta donde estaban ellas su llegada tenía importancia, aunque fuera una más entre tantos pájaros en la costa del Caribe. La cola del dormido caimán permanecía en quietud, se negó a darle la bienvenida. Con su mente ejemplar, de ella pudo visualizar el futuro de esa niña y tragando sin apuro se volvió a acomodar.
