About the Author: Eric Karell is a professional Chef and resides in Johns Creek, Georgia. Originally from New York City, he attended the University of Michigan and graduated with Honors from the Culinary Institute of America. He is very active in charitable work through the American Culinary Federation. Eric is a Certified Executive Chef, a Certified Culinary Administrator and a member of the American Academy of Chefs, the honor society of the ACF. Eric cites as his literary influences John Steinbeck, Ray Bradbury, Richard Brautigan, Kurt Vonnegut John Farris and Stephen King. He continues to draw inspiration from the works of Shakespeare and Ben Johnson. Eric wrote "Mimi" in exactly thirty days, doing the writing after working twelve hour shifts as a Chef. He says "Mimi" is the most unique of his works, having romance as it's theme. His other novels and short stories are much darker. His next novel is "The Devil's Sous Chef" which he hopes to publish this summer. He is also finishing up two cookbooks and in the process of editing two more novels. After that, he hopes to publish a biography of the actress Claudia Jennings. Eric feels this is the most important project he has written to date.
