About the Book

Millie McCall is an exuberant, Harley-riding character who hosts scandalous poker parties for the local fellows wearing her red negligee. Young Jim Halprin is a stand-in at the party, forewarned to flee the moment the last card slaps the table. A swaggering Harley rider himself, Jim bonds with Mrs. McCall instead, as she absorbs lunar energy, shedding her disheveled appearance, becoming a tantalizing beauty. Jim rescues Millie's flashy Harley from destruction by juvenile predators but Millie laughs off the pranksters and leads Jim off on a wild chase in the wrong direction over the twisting roads of Orcas, the most rugged and dangerous of the San Juan Islands. Millie is evading her keepers and tormenting her husband, or so Jim soon learns. He finds himself on a mad ride on the night of the full moon, terrified to learn that Mrs. McCall's freedom ride is meant to last forever.
About the Author: Sara Williams is the author of four suspense novels set in the beloved haunts of her travels. "Millie McCall's Full Moon Poker Night," a novella and short story collection, was inspired by tales of several of Orcas Island's more flamboyant characters. Her third novel, "One Big Itch," is set in Honolulu. "The Serenoa Scandal," takes place in Florida's Okeechobee ranch country. Her first novel, "The Don Juan Con," is a cross-country chase from Southwest Florida to the San Juan Islands of Washington State. Sara's novels have been well-received in the literary world. "One Big Itch" was a featured selection of the Miami Book Fair International. "The Serenoa Scandal" was a subject of a PBS/Florida magazine feature. "The Don Juan Con" was optioned in Hollywood by Robert Evans Paramount. Sara attended The George Washington University in Washington D.C. and earned her B.A. degree in English literature at the University of Washington, Seattle. Sara was an associate editor of "Cascades" Magazine, Seattle, and later a staff writer/columnist for the Fort Myers, FL "News-Press." Many of her columns and features were syndicated nationally via the Gannett Wire. Sara and her husband Bill were blue water sailors. They sailed from The San Juan Islands to Hawaii via Southern California and lingered on Maui for a decade. Their east-coast sailing expeditions include Isla Mujeres in the Gulf of Mexico, the Rio Dulce in Guatemala and the Honduran gulf coast.
