Denn auch eine solche Verbindung ist in einem erheblichen Maße für den dauerhaften Bestand und Erfolg einer Organisation verantwortlich und hilft die Funktionsfähigkeit der Organisation zu sichern. Das Entstehen einer erfolgreichen Kooperation der Organisationsmitglieder untereinander bis hin zu synergetischen Beziehungen wird durch Konflikte, die aus der Verfolgung unterschiedlicher Interessen herrühren, gehemmt oder gar ganz unterbunden. Das individuelle Einkommen sowie persönliche Karriere- und Entwicklungsmöglichkeiten der Organisationsmitglieder sind u. a. von der Entwicklung einer Organisation abhängig. Somit erscheint es für einen positiven Werdegang der Organisation notwendig, sämtliches Konfliktpotential, also die individuellen Bedürfnisse einzelner zu kanalisieren und ggf. zu steuern. Insbesondere werden die Entwicklungspotentiale der individuellen Identitäten der einzelnen Organisationsmitglieder durch Normen, Strukturen und Regelungen stark beschränkt oder zumindest nicht gefördert. Da die zentrale Frage der Identitätsforschung "Was bin ich?" anscheinend untrennbar mit der Frage "Was tue ich?" bzw. "Was bewirke ich?" sowie der existentiellen Frage "Was an meinen Handlungen erfolgt aus mir selber heraus, und was findet seine Ursachen in meiner Umwelt?" (Müller, 1981, 134) verbunden ist, suchen die Organisationsmitglieder nach anderen individuellen Chancen für ihre Identitätsgewinnung bzw. -behauptung.
