About the Book

In 1956, eight young refugees lay in the mud of the treacherous swamp by the Hungarian/Austrian border to hide from the terrifying search-lights of the blood-thirsty Russian border guards. "Almost no refugee succeeded last night to freedom . . . five bullet-holed bodies were carried in from the region" reverberated the Radio Free Europe announcer's moaning in their half-frozen ears. The intoxicating desire for freedom nullifies their terror of dying and against all odds, they try the escape. My Escape is the diary of a teenage freedom fighter and the dramatic flight of eight teenagers from Communist Hungary during the Revolution of 1956. 1956-ban, nyolc fiatal menekuelt fekszik a mocsaar saraaban az Osztraak/Magyar hataarnaal, hogy elbujjeek a veerszomjas Orosz hataaroeroek reemitoe feenyszeoreoi eleol. "Menekueleesuenk" nyolc tizeneeves szabadseagharcos dreamai menekueleeseenek napleoja akik az 1956-os forradalom alatt a kommunista Magyarorszeagreol elszoekni keenyszerueltek.
