Finally! A book written by the boy from a single parent home after he grew into a man! No matter how loving and nurturing mom may be, the simple truth is that a single mother raising a son doesn't know the specific male development challenges her son will face. No more guessing and no more fears wondering if your approaches are right or wrong... good or bad. John gives you the answers you need.
Drawing from his own personal experience, as well as interviews with other sons of single moms, author John P. Dennis alerts women to the critical issues young boys struggle with and offers approaches they can take to resolve these concerns before they become problems.
Tackling tough questions like how are boys impacted when their mom starts dating and do fatherless boys suffer lifelong difficulties, Men Raised by Women uses expert advice, pastoral wisdom, and mentorship tools to map out a plan that helps mothers set their sons up for success. This straight-talk guide also provides vital information for men mentoring young boys, as well as distant dads wanting to make an effort.
Raising children is a group effort, and Men Raised by Women provides the insight and support you need to build the best team for your kids.
About the Author: Raised by a single mother, John struggled to find his way although no one could tell. Hidden behind his good grades and well mannered conduct was the secret that all teen boys confront and can only manage with the help of their fathers. An honor student in high school, Dennis went on to become a USAF air traffic controller, earn his bachelor's degree, and attend St. Louis School of Law-all of which he attributes to the continuous investment of numerous mentors, including military supervisors, pastors, and his life coach. During his time on active duty, Dennis paid it forward by serving as a Big Brother, USAF mentor, and sponsor for the Department of Corrections. Upon concluding his military service, he transitioned to working for the Department of Defense, then as a defense contractor, and finally in the corporate sector.
A father of three sons, Dennis combines his passion for writing, heart for developing young men, and personal experiences to create his parenting guide, Men Raised by Women
