Geo Adamo es fundamentalmente una interpelación. Pero adelantar esta definición sin entrar en contexto, lejos de describir el texto que quiero reseñar, confunde la intención de esta reseña.
No considero equivocado abordar Las Memorias de Geo Adamo como un relato de viajes. Es cierto que el autor conoció en su larga trayectoria de navegante los más distantes y dispares rincones del globo, pero esto no debe prepararnos - simplemente - para un recorrido geográfico: estas Memorias no son una revista antropológica. Si encontramos un filón antropológico no será por el estudio de la diversidad humana - que está presente - sino por las interrogantes fundamentales sobre lo que nos hace humanos, nos hace hombres, nos hace antropos, lo que nos viene de Adán.
Cuando digo que es posible abordar el texto como un relato de viajes, tenemos que obligarnos a aceptar el viaje en un sentido multidimensional. El viaje principal es a través de la conciencia de la existencia, el recorrido - distancias materiales aparte - comporta dimensiones históricas, dimensiones esotéricas, dimensiones científicas, dimensiones cosmogónicas, espirituales, alquímicas, morales y psicológicas. El viaje de Geo Adamo transita y teje las hebras y las rutas de las distantes materias de que está hecha la vida, o mejor decir, de las facetas en que se nos torna asible el conocimiento.
Las anécdotas, las reflexiones, las descripciones y las fantasías están todas orquestadas en la tonalidad de la evolución de la conciencia. Es un libro que trasmuta puntos de vista, disciplinas cognitivas, para crear un Aleph denso y ameno - siendo estos dos calificativos aparentemente excluyentes en el grueso de la literatura, Geo Adamo los equilibra. Es por esto que Geo Adamo debe leerse también como libro alquímico, pues al igual que los textos esotéricos está compuesto por capas de lectura cuya penetración diferencia al iniciado del neófito. Dependiendo de los talentos del lector, el texto se inclinará al dato científico, a la anécdota cosmopolita, a la reflexión psicológica, a la recapitulación histórica o al mensaje espiritual. Pero es de resaltar que tales inclinaciones están en el lector, pues lo escrito es un sistema de interrelaciones sutiles que sirve a un propósito mayor: la realización de la conciencia cósmica trascendental en el individuo. El hecho de que esta tarea esté tan devaluada por el lucro editorial y el narcisismo y exotismo mediáticos, no resta mérito al esfuerzo sino que, por el contrario, suma urgencia a la necesidad que tenemos de sus resultados. Rara vez encontramos, en este mundo de guirnaldas y candilejas, un empeño sincero por dar al conocimiento un uso distinto del brillo. Acá la investigación busca, más bien, ahondar en la modestia que nos permita contemplar la inconmensurabilidad de la existencia y la grande y desatendida responsabilidad que tenemos para con ella.
Y es a la luz de esto último que puedo justificar la primera frase de esta página. Geo Adamo como una mixtura de Buda y Juan Bautista, predica la bondad con ternura (como el primero) y la urgencia a tomar el camino del hombre verdadero (como el segundo). La interpelación de Geo Adamo es para señalarnos que no podemos seguir confiando nuestra vida - nuestro recorrido cósmico, quizás diría él - a los caprichos de nuestros deseos, a la vesania, a la ilusión del poder y del dolor. Geo Adamo, levanta el dedo y gentil y nos señala nuestro propio corazón, que merece despertar.
