I remember seeing a commercial on Fox network, "It's 10:00 p.m. . . . Do you know where your children are?" Good question, and most of us were comforted by the fact that we could answer the question affirmatively, yes! Or maybe! But here is another question for you, "Do you know who your children are?" Even more thought-provoking is, "Do you know who you are?"

This book is about a sometimes admirable but intense and tested mother-daughter relationship. The daughter's approach to life is fueled by her own high will/high skill, and in some cases high will/low skill. It is a story of an educated Mom who grew up in the southern parts of Alabama during the segregation era who wanted the best for her children. (Mom was focused on adjusting what came out of my mouth. She constantly told me to "change my language". She believed that words create habits and habits will manifest what's been coming out of your mouth. She wanted me to learn the ability to control myself since it didn't take much to get me flying off the handle. I was extremely critical of others, cynical, skeptical, and opinionated. If I thought it, I'd say it without considering the other person's feelings.) Growing up in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn, I dreamed about being successful. I dreamed of doing something great. I didn't know what I was going to be great at yet - but I guess that's par for the course! Ms. Lillie's philosophy was, "better is he who can conquer himself, than he who can conquer a great city." So, whose dreams will be fulfilled, hers, mine, ours? Shall we dance?

Inside the covers of this book is an awakening for anyone who didn't know that we all have a common talent we've been given. I've written this book for anyone who needs encouragement to believe in their ability to succeed at their dreams.
