Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Heilpädagogik, Sonderpädagogik, Note: 2,0, Universität Wien (Heil- und Integrative Pädagogik), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der sozialen Integration von Kindern mit Cochlea Implantat im schulischen Umfeld. Die Debatte ob hörbehinderte Kinder lautsprachlich oder laut- und gebärdensprachlich (bilingual) unterrichtet werden sollen, wurde in den vergangenen Jahrzehnten meist zugunsten eines rein lautsprachlichen Unterrichts entschieden. Vor allem von CI-Kindern wird eine gute Lautsprachentwicklung erwartet, zusätzliche Förderung durch Gebärdensprache wird meist abgelehnt. Es gibt aber auch Kritik seitens einzelner Eltern, LehrerInnen und HeilpädagogInnen an dieser Unterrichtspraxis - es wird ein bilingualer Unterricht gefordert. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde herausgearbeitet inwieweit sich lautsprachlicher bzw. bilingualer Unterricht auf die soziale Integration von CI-Kindern im Klassenverband auswirkt. Durch teilnehmende Beobachtung und eine soziometrische Analyse wurden die Kommunikation, die sozialen Beziehungen und das schulische Wohlbefinden in zwei Vergleichsklassen untersucht. Die Auswertung erfolgte mittels qualitativer Inhaltsanalyse nach Mayring (2008). Im Wesentlichen konnte festgestellt werden, dass sich CI-Kinder in ihrer lautsprachlichen Kommunikationskompetenz stark voneinander unterscheiden und die Entscheidung für eine optimale Unterrichtspraxis nur individuell erfolgen kann. Für CI-Kinder mit schlechtem Hörvermögen und kaum oder nur geringen Lautsprachkenntnissen erwies sich das bilinguale Unterrichtsmodell als hilfreich für die soziale Integration. Aber auch bei gutem Hörvermögen und guten Lautsprachkenntnissen ist soziale Integration von CI-Kindern in einer Schulklasse nicht automatisch gewährleistet. Abschließend lässt sich festhalten, dass ein Ausbau an bilingualen Schulangeboten für hörbehinderte Kinder (mit/ohne CI) notwendig ist, um die heilpäda
