Helga Kinsky, geboren als Helga Pollak am 28. Mai 1930 in Wien, war zwolf Jahre alt, als sie im Januar 1943 mit ihrem Vater Otto Pollak ins Ghetto Theresienstadt deportiert wurde. Vom 27. Januar 1943 bis zum 23. Oktober 1944, als sie nach Auschwitz deportiert wurde, lebte sie im Madchenheim L 410, Zimmer 28. Dort zog sie sich immer wieder zuruck, um ihre Erlebnisse, Eindrucke und Gedanken ihrem Tagebuch anzuvertrauen. Erstmals veroffentlicht Edition Room 28 dieses authentische Kindertagebuch. Eingebettet in den biographischen und historischen Kontext und erganzt um die Kalendereintragungen von Helgas Vater Otto Pollak verdichten sich die in diesem Werk vereinten Dokumente und Erinnerungen zu einem eindringlichen Portrat einer judischen Familie aus Wien und machen die Zusammengehorigkeit von Vater und Tochter, die Verwobenheit ihrer Erlebnisse, Angste und Hoffnungen eindringlich fuhlbar.
