About the Book

  • "It's like Quentin Tarantino wrote a book about bridal showers!"
  • "I don't know whether to give it five stars or simply go take a bath to try to rinse it all off..."

The Godbys are a notorious yet entirely mundane, near-imbecilic family than spans multiple generations in the Americas. Del Smoothy's seminal compilation of their family history, updated by his great-grandson for the modern era, details the fascinating, ridiculous and sometimes absolutely vulgar pedigree of the Godby family.

    The Critics Speak:

  • YES! They Really Do!
    • "If Gilbert Gottfried ever attempted to write Roots, this deranged, obscene and wickedly funny book might somehow resemble this bizarre and hilariously ridiculous telling of a true American saga..."

    • "Rude, crude and outlandishly stupid, Meet The Godbys is a fun and hilarious read for anyone who has a true affection for satire of the darkest and most brain-damaged kind."
  • GET Meet The Godbys for yourself right now and discover for yourself why Del Smoothy is an author you simply cannot ignore.

    About The Author, Del Smoothy

Delbert Reginald Smoothy, "Del" to his friends, is the author of several historical, biographical and literary books on a variety of topics. His first well received publication entitled "Why I Like Shooting Birds", was published in both booklet and pamphlet form and distributed in dime stores, churches and youth groups throughout the greater urban area of Lima, Ohio.

Encouraged by his recognition, a successful followup booklet soon followed, "How To Trap Animals In Your Yard", which went on to be recognized by the Greater Chapter Of Ohio Christian Men's Groups as one of the foremost publications on the subject of nuisance pests.

Along with his wife, Olive, the Smoothy family also compiled several recipe and food preparation booklets for a wide variety of church groups and Christian Supper Clubs, most notably, "Scratch Meat Casseroles" and the ever popular, "Sweet Squares & Delectable Dainties", which was recognized by the Fort Shawnee Christian Men's Bridge Players Association as the definitive light dessert tray booklet for both wives and shut-ins.

Enter Young Christian Smoothy (Chad), Del Smoothy's Great-Grandson

Long after the death of prolific author Del Smoothy, his great-grandson Christian Smoothy discovered several unfinished works in a small pine chest at the back of the original Smoothy home. While the original "Meet The Godbys" had been published as a popular pamphlet in the late 1960s, the full work had never been completed for unknown reasons. Del Smoothy had conducted extensive research on the history of the Godbys in America but much of his material, for a variety of reasons, never made it to the published work. MEET THE GODBYS includes nearly more than any average person could stomach in one sitting.

    • This is your chance to MEET THE GODBYS today! Grab your copy now and discover things about America, history and the Godbys in a book so laughingly absurd, it's "like Quentin Tarantino wrote a book about bridal showers!"
    • GET Meet The Godbys right now and see the shocking proof for yourself.
