After about four years, the risk of stroke was 50% lower in the people who followed the Mediterranean diet and was associated with a lower risk of death from all causes.
The Mediterranean diet has been shown to be effective at lowering the chance of a person developing cardiovascular disease and has also been linked to a reduction in cancer.
