Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Sozialpädagogik / Sozialarbeit, Note: 1,0, Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Medial vermittelte Lernprozesse werden zunehmend Teil der Grundsozialisation eines jeden Menschen und es lassen sich Erziehungs- bzw. Sozialisationsprozesse immer weniger ohne Bezug zu Medien denken. Weniger soll es hier jedoch um die praktische Handlungsorientierung medienpädagogischer Arbeitsfelder gehen, sondern vielmehr um eine theoretische Reflexion oftmals unhinterfragter vermeintlicher Gewissheiten. Soziale Arbeit, verstanden als ausführender Arm staatlich gelenkter Interessensdurchsetzung, wird an der angestrebten Professionalisierung scheitern, wenn sie nicht durch Selbstbewusstsein zu sich findet und eigene Wege nicht nur erkennt und aufzeigt, sondern auch selbstreferentiell daran arbeitet und somit eigene Theoriebildung vorantreibt. Für den Bereich der Medienpädagogik oder der Medienbildung bedeutet dies, keinen Rückschritt hinter technische und zivilisatorische Errungenschaften durch Zensurversuche oder Bewahrpädagogik zu forcieren und auch nicht in der Regression von scheinbar harmonischer Natur und nachbarschaftlicher Gemeinschaft aufzugehen. Mit der von mir intendierten Begriffswahl der "ideologiekritischen Medienbildung" stellt sich die Frage nach dem Deutungskontext in Abgrenzung zur Medienkompetenz, der bereits weitgehend systematisch aufgearbeitet ist und in diesem Feld generelle Verwendung findet. Der von mir eingenommene Fokus auf die Bildung als informellem und selbstreflexivem Lernprozess von Mündigkeit und Autonomie verlangt eine Akzentuierung der Aneignungsprozesse, hier der einer "Bildung durch Medien." Medienbildung bezeichnet daher nicht eine Form der Medienrezeption, sondern die Art und Weise, wie der Mensch mit dem medienvermittelten Gegenstand umgeht. Medienbildung geht also erweiternd und ergänzend über das "Bilden für Medien," die Medienkompetenz, hinaus.
