About the Author: Joe B. Hewitt started writing as a newspaper reporter, became an editor, and then owner and publisher. He served as pastor of churches for 39 years, and retired in 2001. He began training in mediation and has been mediating since 2002. The years of traveling the world as a temporary missionary has equipped him for dealing with people of many different cultures and education and economic backgrounds. Hewitt has traveled all 50 of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Beilez, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Brazil, many Caribbean Islands, Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and Russia. Shortly after his retirement from the pastorate, Hewitt's wife, Mary "Marilu" Hewitt, died. In 2003 he married Marona Posey, an attorney from Alabama, who became his partner in Hewitt and Hewitt Mediators. Both Joe and Marona are members of Mensa, the high IQ society.
