About the Book

Mercy's blue eyes flamed in anger and disappointment as she stared at the retreating figure of the horse. Mr. Miller was the fifth person she was trying to sell the McFarland ranch to, unsuccessfully. Sweat trickled down the sides of her face; she wasn't just disturbed about the inability to sell off the ranch, she was worried about the future of her siblings. She pulled in a deep breath and caressed her thumping heart with her left palm, while the right hand washed off the sweat that had kissed her brows. Her hopes of selling the ranch was shattered, it wouldn't be long before she and her orphaned siblings began begging for bread. She had to do something about this."Damn you Miller! You'll regret not taking my offer." A yell of frustration escaped her lips. She was losing it. Things were turning out differently than what she envisaged. After the death of her parents, she had thought it would be an easy thing to sell over her father's ranch. She had been the eldest child, hence the responsibility of taking decisions. She had planned to get some good money from selling the ranch, after which she would move to the city side of Montana; where she would start a new life with her two siblings, Isla and Naomi.Tears welled up in her eyes. Her nostrils flared as she stared into the dry vegetation and the little hills that sprouted between the grasses. She was tired of doing this. She was tired of acting strong; it wasn't easy holding the fort with sisters who were far younger than she was. Isla had just turned fifteen, while Naomi was barely nine. If she couldn't find someone to buy, she would be left with one option; an option she dreaded...become a mail order bride!
