Hierdurch wurde eine effiziente und rationelle Produktion erreicht. Neue technische und technologische Errungenschaften, wie das Internet und flexible Fertigungssysteme senken jedoch Informations- und Rüstkosten erheblich. Hierdurch erscheint, um den steigenden Anforderungen des Marktes nach individuellen Produkten gerecht zu werden, eine gleichzeitige Verfolgung von Differenzierungsstrategie und Kostenführerschaft als möglich. Der Begriff der Mass Customization bezog sich bisher vorrangig auf die Erstellung materieller Güter. Durch den Wandel von der Industrie- zur Dienstleistungsgesellschaft gewinnen immaterielle Güter neben Sachgütern immer mehr an Bedeutung. Ziel dieser Arbeit ist es, zu überprüfen, inwieweit das Konzept der Mass Customization in einer bestimmen Dienstleistungsbrache, der Versicherungswirtschaft, verwendet und umgesetzt werden kann. Dafür sollen folgende Fragestellungen im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit stehen. - Wie lautet das Konzept der Mass Customization und welche Kritikpunkte gibt es? - Sind die besonderen Grundsätze und Rahmenbedingungen der Versicherungswirtschaft mit dem Konzept der Mass Customization vereinbar? - Wie kann eine Umsetzung der kundenindividuellen Massenproduktion von Versicherungsprodukten ausgestaltet werden? - Welche Grenzen bestehen hierfür und wie können sie überwunden werden? Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit muss auf weitere Fragen zur Mass Customization von Versicherungsprodukten verzichtet werden, so z.B. weitere Verwendungsmöglichkeiten der Individualisierungsinformationen, ökonomische Messbarkeit des Erfolg
