About the Book

Following the slaughter of an innocent child close to him, former Mossad agent, Jake Zimmer, devises a strategy to achieve peace for Israel. But, he soon finds that executing the plan is far more complex than he expected, despite having the full support of the American President. Jake, bewildered as Arab opponents kill and maim throughout the world to derail the implementation, can't understand why the Muslims would fight against a program that would give them exactly what they had always sought and for which they had always fought. He ultimately comes to realize why they can never be satisfied. He learns that it is crucial to the Muslim opposition to drive all the Jews from Israel, and Jerusalem, in particular, and there is nothing they will not do to achieve that goal. The Masada Solution is Jake's story, about a man whose character was formed by his family, his education, his training, experiences and his faith. But his purpose wasn't defined until the murder of a little girl by Muslim terrorists. He resolves to use any means to stop the carnage, once and for all, even if it requires ignoring his personal values and the rules of diplomacy and covenants that constrain civilized nations. The ultimate goal becomes his sole consideration. At stake may be a dire future of a world dominated by Radical Islam ruled from an Islamic Jerusalem by an omnipotent Caliph.
About the Author: Jeffrey Fishman is an historian who knows how injustices can occur and how, for good to prevail, sometimes evil must be confronted without restraint. As a lawyer, he knows there are times when the worst of acts can be justified, sometimes, even heroic. As a past editor and commentator for a daily legal journal, he knows the story must be compelling. In writing this novel, his inspiration was Zvi Zamir, who, while just a teenager in what was to become Israel, joined the Palmach resistance movement, the elite fighters of the Haganah. It was formed to combat the incessant Arab attacks on Jews. The Palmach allied with the British against the Nazis and then fought to achieve Israeli independence. Later, Zamir rose to the rank of Major General in the Israeli Defense Forces. In 1968, the Palestinian terrorists, Black September, attacked and murdered Israeli athletes competing at the Munich Olympics, Zamir, as the Director of Mossad, and Prime Minister, Golda Meir, launched Operation Wrath of God. The mission was to assassinate the terrorists involved, ignoring Israeli policy and accepted international rules of engagement. It was designed to awaken the world that Israel will have retribution against those who attack them. There would be a price to pay for killing Jews. Like Zamir, the author refuses to accept the destruction of Israel as inevitable and believes that unorthodox and creative actions must be taken to prevent it. His protagonist, Jake Zimmer, is willing to do anything to find the elusive peace. The author hopes Director Zamir finds the premise of this novel compatible with his views and hopes you, the reader, find this story to be a good read and thought-provoking.
