About the Book

This is a story about the mother of Jesus. So many stories of Mary are lofty and surreal. The truth that I bring to life is her humanity and her complete and profound faith; and her reliance and love for Joseph, both, which help her to follow God's Will. This story is the perfect example of the importance of love and of family. The story begins with the arrangement of the marriage between Mary and Joseph. Then I continue with the angel's visit. I imagine what it was like for Mary; the fear and the ecstasy that moment brought to her; and Joseph's reaction and hesitation. For eighteen chapters I provide a window into this holy woman's life, Mary's joy, her sorrows, her deep admiration and devotion to her son. This is a very human story about Mary and her family and their very divine mission. I have kept the story flowing and descriptive but to the point. This makes the novel an easy read, which I am hopeful, will be re read in difficult times to encourage the reader when they feel discouraged. When I look at the gospels through Mary's eyes, I truly see the courage and absolute trust in God, that as Christians, we should have. ...As Joseph walked down the quiet street, his mind and his heart was on Mary and her vision. He was so confused and distraught. Joseph loved Mary more then he had realized was possible. His heart nearly broke each time he thought about divorcing her.... "...do you remember the scripture of the prophet Jeremiah?" Mary could not speak, but nodded in affirmation against his chest, so Joseph continued; "The scripture went like this, 'a sound is heard in Ramah, the sound of bitter weeping. Rachel is crying for her children and would not be consoled, for they are no more; Mary, this is the prophecy that has come true.".... ... She watched Jesus until he was out of sight; then went to her room and began to pray for her son as she had never prayed before...
About the Author: Author Bio I was born and raised in Northwest Ohio, and lived in an extended family that included my maternal grandmother and her sister, as well as my parents and sister and brother. I lived the first thirteen years of life in Defiance Ohio, before moving to New Bavaria, a small farming community twelve miles to the southeast. I went to a catholic parochial school in both communities; going on to a Catholic high school, Saint Joseph's Academy, in Adrian Michigan for a year and a half. From there I went back home and graduated from Holgate Local School in the town of Holgate Ohio; a small town five miles north of New Bavaria Ohio. In high school my teacher told me to consider a career in writing. It took me 35 years to produce my first book. Raising two kids and struggling to make ends meet; put my writing on hold for more realistic aspirations. I came up with the idea for this book in the 80's and actually even started to write it. It fell by the wayside for twenty-five years. Having lost the original manuscript, I was surprised at how much I remembered of it and how it was truly a part of my psyche. I hope that you will enjoy this simple story about an extraordinary mother. When I look at the gospels through Mary's eyes I truly see the courage and absolute trust in God, that we are called to have as Christians. Mary T. Miller January 6, 2008
