About the Book

Jerry Guo, the author, has been fond of thinking since he was very young, thinking of many things, esp. over why he comes to be a man on Earth. At ten, when he moved from a small town of Taichung to Taipei with his parents, he once crouched amidst a sea of rice patches thinking hard over why he came there. However, he got nothing. After graduating from National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung and receiving his master degree of law, due to the poverty of his family, he gave up the plan to go abroad for advanced studies and the plan to be a diplomat. On the contrary, he made his every effort to coin money through being a full-time cram school teacher, who teaches college entrance examination and after-graduation entrance exam English. He was very lucky. Through 7-8 year endeavor, he got his "five points" dream fulfilled, which the Chinese regard as a big success in one's lifetime. However, he was not happy. And again he began to think over the why. Although he meditated hard and dip himself over many classic books of several important religions, he still got no satisfactory answer. He moved to a small hill of Miaoli near central Taiwan in 2001 to begin a farmer-studying life, from which he hoped he could think out the answer of the question long buried in his mind. He quit all his jobs in 2008 to devote all his life to the search of this answer. He was very lucky. After years of reclusive farming life, studying some natural discourses that he seldom touched before and traveling abroad alone as a backpacker, he gradually discovered the wisdom in "the Middle Classic" that is interwoven with two principles - the Middle Course and the Circulation(the Recycle Way). With the wisdom, man can have his life peaceful, healthy and happy easier. It is not money, fame, power, social status but peace, health and happiness that make man be man. And he, the author, finally realizes the meaning of his being on earth-experiencing the at most 100-year journey as being a life traveler. He is very proud to have this book published to share his view of life with the reader who has a marvelous life connection with him. And maybe through reading this book, one may change his view about his current life and with this owns a more peaceful, more healthy and happier life.
