Como cruz y calvario se funden y pierden las pasiones de los bardos que coexistieron aquí, marcando su tenue luz, tabernáculos, luego como sombras en pena cuantifican sus pisadas en las húmedas calles del olvido y desesperanza, entre bombillos tenues y callejuelas que van perdiendo su brío. Los pasillos son ya barandas con aldabas hospitalarias, cruentas de húmedas e indiferentes al mundo, (no para el viejo poeta del caserío olvidado). Como todos; terminan en la necrópolis de su poblado, (también obseso), encabezando las siglas de alguna cripta mixta, desechada o terreno baldío, y el silencio despótico coloca su adoquín iletrado. Hoy se intenta rescatar toda la sabiduría en cántico y romanza que perdemos al despedir a estos coterráneos ilustres, ensalzar a cada retoño, cada lírico que a flor se aliste. Todo comienza en el mes de abril del año 2017, por petición de mis colegas en la Isla, solicitando la oportunidad de publicación, y a pocos meses del fallecimiento ignorado de José Herrera Díaz, (el maestro de muchos), surge esta idea protectora como primer ladrillo plantado después del desorden. Queremos dejar claro que a irreverencia se implica todo aquel que aporte a la pérdida de las cimientes armónicas y culturales de un pueblo que intentan hoy perder en la niebla, poblado con profunda historia cultural, literaria, en estos días ignorada por las nuevas generaciones. Todo ello conlleva a la estadía de un vacío casi irreparable, pero nada es imposible mientras exista conciencia, deseos masónicos de creación y rescate. Entran al correo los primeros trabajos, el poeta "Elieser López" es el primero que responde a mi llamado, seguido por la poetisa "Yenia Catalina Reyes" más tarde; por contactos de Bernal, una décima del bardo "Víctor Puertodán" alegórica a esta tierra capitalina. Se emprende en este mismo período la confección y esbozos, (de manera inmediata), para los conclusivos rótulos del ejemplar. Encabezan su introducción poemas de "Clemencia Gómez Toro" (hija del mayor general Máximo Gómez Báez), realizados en la temporada que moraron en este pueblo. Estos manuscritos, (donados por el historiador del pueblo Eduardo Bernal), fueron sometidos a una larga limpieza y restauración digital por el editor, (quien escribe), aprobando la excelente idea del historiador para encabezar esta obra entre poetas en diversos años y edades del terruño. Se menciona y honra a "José Herrera Díaz" en diversos momentos del compendio, nuestro gran amigo, poeta, pintor, artista de cine, fallecido recientemente víctima del olvido e ignorancia establecida, es esta omisión contra la cual intentamos batallar. "Márgenes del Almendares" se muestra hoy no sólo como compendio poético, sino también forjando el legado, seguimiento de cada escritor en mi tierra natal. Este poblado nuestro, herido, rico en historia ineludible y palmeras entre calabazas, cautiva a los poetas sembrados en las orillas del inolvidable río, expone la cosecha florecida de aquellos arduos arados. Es ésta la primera edición conocida al respecto, asumida por "Hora Alpha" en pro de honra y rescate de valores tradicionales, hoy adentramos simultáneamente a las mamparas perdidas "hoy somos la tertulia".
