About the Book

Este texto está íntegramente consagrado a la historia de Falange Española desde sus orígenes remotos en 1927 hasta la sustitución de Raimundo Fernández Cuesta por Diego Márquez Horrillo, en la jefatura del partido en 1983. ¿Por qué estas fechas? Porque, en sí mismas, encierran el ciclo de nacimiento, auge y decadencia de la organización que, a partir del final de la transición (elecciones generales de octubre de 1982 que dieron el poder a los socialistas, unido al fracaso del golpe del 23-F), coinciden con la renuncia del que fuera amigo de José Antonio, ministro de Franco y en aquel momento Jefe Nacional del partido. Lo que ocurrió entre finales de los años 20 (que describimos) podría ser calificado como pre-Falange, mientras que lo que ocurrió después de 1983, carece de interés histórico y pertenece a lo que podríamos llamar "vida de grupúsculos", cuyas vicisitudes se prolongan hasta nuestros días.
Si esta va a ser la materia a tratar, veamos el formato. Hemos optado por construir un "manual" en tanto que contiene de manera explícita, ordenada y sistemática, información sobre el partido, sus vicisitudes, sus circunstancias y su desarrollo histórica a través de medio siglo de existencia. No hemos juzgado necesario realizar anotaciones a pie de página sobre las fuentes a fin de no interrumpir la narración. De todas formas, este trabajo supone el resumen y el afinamiento de las tesis que hemos ido elaborando en estos últimos años en cinco volúmenes y tres cuadernos publicados por EMInves. En estas obras, las fuentes sí están referenciadas escrupulosamente y animamos al lector que quiera comprobar los datos en los que basamos este Manual, a que consulte dichas obras, cuyos títulos y temáticas enumeramos:
