Masterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich BWL - Controlling, Note: 1,3, Universität Siegen, Veranstaltung: Risikomanagement, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der Studie "Reputation: Risk of Risks" der Economics Intelligence Unit wurden 269 Riskomanager befragt, was aus ihrer Sicht das größte Risiko in einem Unternehmen darstellt. Auf Platz eins - das Reputationsrisiko. Diese Studie belegt die aktuelle Relevanz dieser Risikokategorie. Die Frage ist allerdings, inwieweit eine genaue Messung und Quantifizierung der Reputation zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt möglich ist. Dabei sind sich auch Experten nicht ganz einig. Fakt ist aber, dass eine Nichtbeachtung/ein Ignorieren der Quantifizierung von Risiken zur Folge hat, dass diese Risiken mit Null bewertet werden. Somit werden diese bei der Bestimmung des Risikopotenzials, respektive bei der Unterlegung mit Risikokapital, vernachlässigt. Ob das negligieren, beziehungsweise die Nichtbeachtung von Reputationsrisiken der richtige Weg für die Zukunft sein wird, ist demnach sehr fraglich. Darüber hinaus gibt es eine Reihe von Modellen, die versuchen das Reputationsrisiko so exakt wie möglich darzustellen. Die bisher am meisten verbreiteten Modelle beziehen sich dabei auf Reputationsindizes, die in Kapitel 3 genauer beschrieben werden. Je nach Standpunkt und Wissenschaft werden unterschiedliche Definitionen von Reputation vorausgesetzt. Um den ambiguen Begriff für die Belange dieser Arbeit eindeutig einzugrenzen, wird in Kapitel 2 eine grundlegende Definition von Reputation für den Verlauf der Arbeit festgelegt. Darüber hinaus wird auch der Stellenwert von Reputationsrisiken im Aufsichtsrecht erläutert, der bei präziseren Quantifizierungs- und Berechnungsmethoden von Reputationsrisiken an Relevanz gewinnen wird. Der Kernteil der Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit dem Management von Reputationsrisiken.
