About the Book

During a flood, a landslide destroys the village of Antro and with it vanishes any possibility for Pietro to rebuild his past. While he is still digging among the rubble, dreams torment and guide him. He then returns to Antro and finds one last survivor: Antòni. He takes him home convinced that he can restore the past by recomposing his history and that of the town, and the stories begin to unfold. Antòni tells him about "the people" who have now disappeared from Antro. Dramatic and poetic stories, difficult to believe, because not everything he tells corresponds to what the survivors remember. Who is Antòni then? Is he lying when he says he talks to the ghosts of Antro? It's hard to say, but little by little his words seem to indicate a way of redemption for a guilty and innocent humanity.

"In that place where I was, greedily consuming happiness, any pain or discontent was cushioned by the liquid in which I was immersed, the bag that gently protected me. I didn't need to eat or drink. I was a bit of an angel myself, always satiated, devoid of needs."
