About the Book

"I quite agree with you, said the Duchess to Alice, and the moral of that is. 'Be what you would seem to be', or if you'd like it put more simply, 'Never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.'" Alice did not seem to attach much importance to what she said or did. She was like a big girl with very green eyes a little feline and full of the inquisitive look of an eagle. This brings her an intuitive and profound light that she used to subjugate many of her admirers in the world of anthropological science. Stephen had been a boy who probably had very busy parents, who had no time, who had no interest to listen to him. And then he still had the feeling that no one wanted to be by his side, that his emotional needs did not matter. Children are people who are a bit like ducklings who go out to swim, lose their mother and then feel panic. The protagonists of this book tend to play with that feeling, they have become accustomed to adventure, to jump and to feel panic. Irina, the Unesco consultant; Christensen, the man from the astronomical observatory; Merton, the man from the bottle of beer at the sea; Danfoss, the man of energy salvation; Alice, the specialist of the human mind; and Stephen, The journalist of the Syrian war, they will be these characters who in the novel tend to feel strong emotions. Worst of all was that one lived: not to prove to others that you are worth something, but that you would never feel that you were worth anything. Such was the dissatisfaction that an education as strict as a child had led them.
