About the Book

This is a pacey book set in Africa. It recounts the experience of an ordinary boy in the Southern African Country of Zambia who achieves extraordinary things. The book follows him from his birth in the unknown village of Mwense in the barren province of Luapula in Zambia to his training in England as a Doctor. It ends with his being given an award of recognition by a professional American Medical Association. The book makes you travel with the author from the villages of Africa, into the corridors of Medical School, the hospitals of England and the vast cities of the United States. His vivid and easy writing style, makes it difficult to put the book down until you finish it. It reads like fiction, but brings out so clearly the statement that the truth is better than fiction. The story is told with warmth and realism that is common among African story tellers. It views the world from a pleasant fresh African eye. The icing on the cake is the fact that this is a true story of the success of an African man. It is an example of what can be achieved by hard work and determination. It makes for good leisurely reading for the family or for those young people wishing to motivate themselves about the future. It is a biography, but it is really a motivational book for young career people every where. Read it and it will leave an impression on you.
