About the Book

Magnetite is the only being left on Earth. The Earth Mother is without her humans, oceans, waters, animals and plants, except Trokar, a dying Giant Oak Tree. Earth Mother appeals to Magnetite to be her witness. She asks Magnetite to witness everything. Karanth the Crow arrives from a parallel universe to help Magnetite. Later a cat Cassiopeia, a Messenger from the Sun arrives at Magnetite's dwelling to help her. The female, the crow and the cat journey in to search for solutions to heal the Earth Mother. Overall Comment by author Sue Randall Magnetite is a powerful journey through time, space and consciousness. I travelled to places hitherto unvisited, returning with a wealth of spiritual insight and renewed compassion for the Earth and her creatures. In the future our world is not the place of beauty it is today. It has been damaged, left scarred and barren to the point that no living creatures remain-save for two: Magnetite, a being of extraordinary vision and talents, and Trokar the Giant Oak Tree, who is in the final stages of her dying cycle. It is a terrible state, and the Earth Mother is so devastated that she asks Magnetite to bear witness, to hear her stories, her dreams, and her memories. Magnetite readily agrees. Magnetite is soon witness to Earth Mother's rending story of the Might, a terrible period that changed her in ways she had not endured since her birth. Vara the Immortal One, a supernatural being, regularly appears to Magnetite. They communicate and she learns from Vara. She is soon joined by a crow named Karanth from a parallel universe; he will guide her and assist in the healing of Earth Mother. Together, they begin their spiritual journey of hope, connection, and healing. Cassiopeia, a cat who is also a messenger from the Sun, is sent to Magnetite's dwelling to help her and Karanth in their quest. Incorporating elements of magical realism, surrealism, and symbolism, Jennifer Joan Morgan's first instalment of the Magnetite trilogy is an epic journey through time, space, and consciousness. At once captivating, thought-provoking, and dream-like, Magnetite: Book 1-The End of the Beginning is a clarion call to stop the mistreatment of our Earth before it is too late.
