About the Book

Please allow me to tell you about my new screenplay, the Maelstrom Whirlpool. Like a Twister underwater, the Maelstrom Whirlpool is an action-packed roller coaster ride. From ancient legend to sweeping family adventure, our story begins when a special Navy deep-sea rescue vehicle (USS Leviathan) is sent to find the source of a Whirlpool off the coast of Hawaii and stop it from destroying the planet. The government calls on the best of all Navy test submarine commanders, Captain John Cutter. He is to join forces with world-renowned Oceanographer, and his former fiancée, Dr. Kitty Honeywell. Together they must forget their marital indecision and rush to save the planet. Boats swallowed whole and gargantuan waves; the Maelstrom Whirlpool produces a wall of descending water over a mile across and a mile deep. But is this the result of the recent earthquake? Or is it a reaction to rising ocean levels from global warming? Cutter and his crew must overcome tremendous obstacles including a Russian attack sub, treacherous ice passages, molten magma layers, a never tested vehicle and a dangerous Seal team. The USS Leviathan suddenly finds itself in a battle of opposing forces. The rescue vehicle is a tri-powered nuclear attack class sub. It is a specially designed carbon tiled, super-fast, titanium reinforced submarine built to go deep under the earth's crust. Even in magma, the USS Leviathan can launch a series of laser-guided Nitrogen filled torpedoes. These torpedoes are made to freeze a large enough section of magma to fill the hole and stop the ever-growing Whirlpool, but will they get there in time? The fate of the world rests firmly on their shoulders. Our team includes Danish, an energetic FEMA official who accidentally becomes a stowaway while looking for a cappuccino machine. Farnsworth, a NOAA scientist who calculates the earth has one week to survive and his dedicated assistant, Harrington, who can't stop buying him ties. Royal, the Exec, an old Navy buddy of Cutters' who Shanghai's a crew member. There are also two surfers, one of whom is determined to surf all the way down to the bottom of the Maelstrom Whirlpool and his friend who tries to rescue him by jumping from the helicopter. And most importantly there is Mister, Kitty's small Yorkshire terrier dog, who single handily tries to defeat the Seal team. We follow the Popalisky family whose whale watching trip gets cut short on Betty's Congas when the migrating Humpbacks happen into the current of the deadly vortex. Thus, ending the romantic moment between the Captain's first mate, Lucas, and the beautiful Sophia Popalisky, who has always wanted to swim with the whales. They drift closer towards the Whirlpool, but who will save them? Captain Cutter must overcome not only the treacherous currents but also his own active imagination as he connects in his dreams to the mythical legend of Scylla and Charybdis, the Monster and the Whirlpool.
