About the Author: Steven D. Cifelli, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, served in the Vietnam War at the age of eighteen. After witnessing the loss of so many young lives, he vowed that he would always remember those whose childhood innocence was lost there-a truly life-changing experience.
Cifelli has earned postgraduate degrees as a school counselor and psychologist. He has also served as a school board president and law enforcement volunteer for a juvenile intervention program.
He has served on the board of directors of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, acted as the board president of the SARA Foundation (Suicide Awareness Requires Action), and was the founder and president of the Circle of Love Foundation.
Currently, Cifelli serves as a core clinical professor at the University of Redlands School of Education's counseling program.
