About the Book

Macroeconomics is a comprehensive textbook on Economics, that provides an in-depth coverage of core topics of microeconomic theory, classic economic literature, and research. Summary Of The Book Designed with a view to enabling a flexible approach to teaching economic theory, Macroeconomics strives to make the subject easier to teach in classrooms, and takes into account various factors, including time constraints, areas of emphasis, and interest on the part of students required to study it. This book on macroeconomics has long since been considered a leading textbook on macroeconomic theory since it was first published in 1978. This edition of the book not only covers core topics from the course curriculum point of view, but also studies in detail, many topics in the areas of research conducted in microeconomics. The book has been divided into 5 sections and 20 chapters. The first part of the book introduces the subject and also talks about National Income Accounting. The rest of the sections pertain to, Growth, Policy, and Aggregate Supply and Demand. The chapters of the book include topics such as income, unemployment, prices, spending, and so on. Each chapter has an introduction, a summary, as well as a list of terminology used. Welfare economics has also been covered in-depth. The book supports its theoretical content with numerous examples and applications which are quite unique and innovative. It manages to maintain a judicious balance between microeconomic theory, current research, and classic economic literature, making it an all encompassing and complete textbook. Furthermore, the text is amply sprinkled with illustrations and diagrams, and the vast glossary provided at the end of the book makes it easy to understand the language and terms used.
