Seminar paper de l'année 2013 dans le domaine Philologie française - Littérature, note: 1,7, Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (Romanisches Seminar), cours: PS2LW: Littérature et engagement, langue: français, résumé Cette étude se situe dans le cadre d'un séminaire de littérature engagée et avance un travail sur un écrivain engagé dans deux courants culturels et politiques du 20 siècle, pas evidemment compatibles: la négritude et la francophonie. En se fondant sur la vie et l'oeuvre de Lèopold Sédar Senghor, auteur et politicien d'origine sénégalaise, je veux démontrer comment ces deux courants sont d'un côté paradoxal, d'un autre complémentaire, cela surtout grâce à la contribution spécifique de Senghor, qui est au travers de l'influence de ses oeuvres poétiques un grand défenseur de la négritude et un des pricipaux initiateurs de la francophonie. Pour éclairer l'importance de l'auteur pour la négritude et la francophonie, je considère primordial de commencer par une brève biographie en mettant l'accent sur les évènements de sa vie, qui démontrent la double culture qu'il a d'un côté reçu de son pays de naissance et celle qu'il a acquise en apprenant le français et le latin. Ceci suivi par une définition des courants de la négritude et de la francophonie, générale et senghorienne. Puis en analysant le "poème liminaire" du deuxième recueil de Senghor, Hosties noires (1948), je démontre, comment l'auteur arrive à y faire une synthèse entre culture française et africaine, et ainsi une connection simultanée entre engagement envers la négritude et la francophonie. Par la suite je relève quelques aspects paradoxaux et critisés de l'oeuvre poétique et politique de Senghor et du fait d'unir les courants de la négritude et de la francophonie. Pour conclure je veux encore une fois mettre en évidence la valeur de l'oeuvre entière de Léopold Sédar Senghor, son importance pour les deux courants, la négritude et la francophonie, et la situation scindée dans laquelle il se tr
