Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2015 im Fachbereich Theologie - Sonstiges, Note: 1,0, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Taufe ist heutzutage ein feierlicher Akt, mit dem ein Kind in die christliche Gemeinde aufgenommen wird. Gemeinsam mit dem Abendmahl bildet die Taufe das Moment, "durch welche der Gottesgeist uns das Christusgeschehen zuwendet und uns heiligt." So ernennt Martin Luther diese beiden Akte zu den Sakramenten des evangelischen Christentums und grenzt sich damit eindeutig vom Katholizismus ab. In seinem Großen Katechismus legt er neben weiteren Themen ausführlich das Taufgeschehen dar und schafft somit eine grundlegende Erklärung für den Protestantismus. Nach seiner Tradition "steht zur Begründung der Taufe der Befehl Christi und damit die Stiftung der Taufe durch Christus obenan. Deshalb muss getauft werden." Der Taufe wird folglich eine tragende Funktion für den evangelischen Glauben zugeschrieben. In der Forschung wird mitunter sogar die These aufgeworfen, dass Gott im Taufakt einen Bund mit dem Menschen schließt. So wie einst Gott zu Noah sprach: "Und ich richte meinen Bund so mit euch auf, dass hinfort nicht mehr alles Fleisch verderbt werden soll durch die Wasser der Sintflut [...]", so soll demnach heute ein jeder Mensch in der Taufe einen individuellen Gotteszuspruch erhalten. Jedem Menschen würde die Exklusivität des Auserwähltseins zugesprochen. Ein jeder Mensch würde die Taufe als Zeitpunkt sehen, ab welchem sich Gott mit einem verbünde und Schutz gegenüber allem Unheil leiste. Doch wäre die Gefahr nicht groß, die Taufe würde mit dieser Aussage zu einem dem Glauben entkoppelten Ritus verbanalisiert werden? In dieser Arbeit sollen in einem ersten Schritt die Argumentationsstränge Luthers dargelegt werden. Die Inhalte seines Artikels werden in definierten, gegliederten Abschnitten vorgestellt.
