Tu fai capolino dappertutto: sulle labbra di un amante, ne' suoi occhi, nel suono della sua voce: quando si ama davvero, il silenzio e la conversazione, la gioia e la tristezza, tutto palesa quello che si sente dentro. Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy (1650-1705) Sembrerebbe una poesia, invece, si tratta di un pensiero che la Contessa d'Aulnoy esprime all'interno del racconto, nel momento in cui il Principe Grazioso tenta di dissimulare l'amore che prova per la bella e dolce Fiorina. Queste parole sono state per me la chiave di lettura di tutta la storia e ho voluto favorire il lettore inserendole prima ancora di iniziare. Anche se so bene che questo è un libro dedicato ai bambini, più grandi e più piccini, immagino che queste pagine potrebbero essere lette da un adulto e la breve introduzione potrebbe aiutarlo nel porgere in maniera ancora più amorevole la fiaba alle piccole orecchie. La storia de L'Uccellino Blu fa parte di una serie di racconti della Contessa Marie-Catherine d'Aulnoy, nota dama e scrittrice francese della seconda metà del '600. Dovete sapere che la Contessa non ebbe una vita matrimoniale felice, perché, come spesso succedeva all'epoca, il suo fu un matrimonio combinato per puro interesse della famiglia. Senza entrare troppo nei dettagli, ma se siete curiosi andate pure a cercare in rete la sua biografia, scoprirete che la storia del nostro uccellino sarà molto travagliata proprio a causa della sua ostinata opposizione a sposare una donna che non amava. Mi piace pensare che la Contessa, scrivendo questa storia, abbia riscritto la storia della sua rocambolesca vita che, stavolta però, come in ogni fiaba che si rispetti, termina con un lieto fine. La traduzione non è stata semplice, stiamo parlando di una fiaba scritta diversi secoli fa, ma fortunatamente il nostro caro Carlo Collodi, nel 1875, fece una prima traduzione e la inserì ne I racconti delle Fate, tra i suoi e altri tre racconti della Contessa. Grazie al lavoro di Collodi, ho potuto comprendere più profondamente alcune descrizioni, alcuni momenti importanti della vicenda, in modo da poter offrire ai piccoli lettori degli anni duemila una versione più moderna e leggermente più snella, insomma, più facilmente fruibile.Ora, con la mente al pensiero iniziale, che non troverete più all'interno del racconto in questa versione, vi auguro una buona lettura.
