Love What Matters is a 15 week devotional taken over one year covering 1 Corinthians chapter 13. It has turned into a deep study on what love is and how to love in a hurting world where the subject matter is skewed and difficult to grasp. It targets youth as well as young adults, but serves as a good reminder to an older audience as well. I designed the book to have each chapter contain a reading followed by questions centered around personal growth and concluding with challenges to do throughout the week to take that growth one step further and venture outside of your comfort zone to really dive into Gods love for others. Each week follows this same format and after 15 weeks the reader will have accomplished many challenges as well as an in depth study of the definition 1 Corinthians gives us on love. The Apostle Paul gives many personal accounts on his journey through 1 Corinthians which are covered in the book alongside my personal accounts.
What does it mean to love like Christ and why isnt it as easy as it sounds? How does a woman or man of God need to live and love in a society over wrought with temptations, stereotypes, desires, and lust? This book was written over a course of 15 weeks with each of the points made in 1 Corinthians chapter 13 in regards to what love really is. The following groups of topics are firsthand accounts and my attempts to test myself by taking one chapter a week and one challenge a day in order to conquer and display a Christ like love to all the relationships around me. If you find yourself questioning the concept of Christian love within a friendship, family relationship, or romantic involvement, then I challenge you to also take a topic per week and be more than a conqueror in Him who gives you strength and apply it to that group or individual. Grab a journal and allow Christ to move in you and through you to show His love in a way you humanly never fathomed!
