About the Book

Set in the golden city of 1800's San Francisco and in the wake of the emancipation proclamation, The Love Lesson, is a romantic tale of two unlikely people brought together under the most incredulous circumstances and addresses issues of slavery, kidnapping and murder most foul. At the bequest of her dying lady, servant Kristen Brent assumes her role as the widowed bride to a Lord she has never met. What happens when a virgin bridge is not expected to be one? Before she can assume her role as the wife of Lord Rossmore, she must try and rid herself of her virginal state. But who can she turn to now that she is in a strange land with friends or family. Seeking out the only person she feels can help her is an irrepressible flame haired Tavern Owner Nell, who in fun offers her the name Wade Larson who would ordinarily be a willing participant. The plan backfires, and results in a complete misinterpretation and complicated mishap. How will Kristen Brent posing as Lady Margaret Castleton convince Wade that all she needs is for him to teach her how to make love? What will she do when Lord Rossmore finally returns from business to claim his bartered bride?
About the Author: Failing an early writing contest for Essence magazine in the 70's did not deter Patt from continuing to write. Thanks to novelist and one of the greatest editors ever, Ms. Nathasha Brooks -Harris who invited Patt to write for several TRUE CONFESSION lines of magazines where she learned tight and entertaining writing that resulted in the publication of more than two hundred short stories. She was awarded 2009 Author of the year and 2010 Mentor of the year by Romance writers of America, New York City Chapter, a terrific organization that helped her to obtain valuable lessons and insight in her writing journey. One of Patt's most gratifying experiences was when she moderated a standing room only workshop at the African American Slam in 2004 and has since enjoyed speaking engagements at libraries, book clubs and other forums. She was given a superb book signing by the fabulous Surry Co-op. Bronx NY where she enjoyed meeting wonderful new friends and connecting with old ones. She is a member of Liberty States Fiction Writers the home of a magnitude of talented people and fellow authors. Patt is an author with Ellora's Cave - Blush line And Amazon white Glove and lives in New Jersey with her husband and very spoiled and loveable Jack Russell Terrier named Bailey.
