About the Author: "The Renaissance gene" as I call it, must be present in my biological make-up as my entire family - my parents and 4 brothers and sisters, are all talented in the arts and in teaching. Ultimately I recognize my talents are God given. I thank Him for the madnessof this creative outlet. I've always loved writing and drawing. In fact, I can't remember an era in my life that I didn't write. From the time I could put my thoughts on paper, I wrote short stories. In second grade writing became an outlet for me to experience and share life. My bachelors degree is in Liberal Arts which I received from Louisiana State University. From 1995-97 I worked as the PR Assistant for The American Red Cross in Southeast Louisiana. One of my many responsibilities was writing the articles and producing the internal, monthly and quarterly newsletters that were disseminated to the 13 parishes in our chapter. 1997 was the year I started my family, having my first baby. To stay home with him, I started a freelance graphic design business but somehow found the time to continue to write as a hobby. In 2002 one of my best friends convinced me to put all the ideas I talked of with her into screenplays - which I did, and I wrote and wrote until I had quite a few screenplays. My daughter entered the picture by this time, I wrote mostly between the hours of 10pm and 1am. Continuing to seize writing opportunities I was offered my own column from 2006 - 2008. It was a monthly feature article titled "Heart of Baton Rouge" in Town Favorites, a magazine local to Baton Rouge. The emphasis was on small businesses and the owners and the blood, sweat, and tears that created their interesting and unique back stories. I continued writing screenplays, but I LOVE the stories I write and the characters I create. I think they are wonderful enough that others would enjoy them - why else would I bring them all together in a screenplay if I didn't want to share them. However, screenplays are rarely seen by anyone other than the writer or someone paid to do coverage. So, I decided to take my screenplays and change them into novels to share them with the world. My stories are all fiction, but based on natural human tendencies and I believe most anyone can relate, understand, and enjoy.
