About the Book

Ah Love - Ah Paris begins as Claire Bryte Cloud, her parents Daniel and Hannah and her orphanage brother fly to Paris to try and find Juno's sister Lily. Claire had won two tickets for a tour of Paris and Juno practically begged her to let him go with her. He was intent on finding his sister but he was also intent on making sure that anybody interested in Claire would think they were a couple Claire thwarted that by asking her parents to go along too and neglected to let Juno know that until the day before their trip. Juno had been outsmarted and Claire expects him to be his usual whiny self when he doesn't get his way. Claire is determined to enjoy Paris and she knows her parents will help Juno search for his sister Lily. Lily has followed a man to Paris. It is rumored that this man - Josh - is a drug dealer and that Lily is tied to him for her drug supply. Others think Lily is simply obsessed with Josh because he is studying to be a doctor. Josh has flown to Paris to marry his long-time fiancee Greta. As Juno, Daniel and Hannah search for Lily, Claire spends her time exploring Paris. She meets a handsome shop owner named Wynne and spends time with an older man who is on the same tour with her. His name is Brad Shepherd and by coincidence he is the uncle of Jess Shepherd - the boy Claire met in Oklahoma. The wedding party for Josh and Greta's wedding ends up staying in the newer wing of Claire's hotel. The night of the rehearsal dinner, Josh shows and doesn't get quite the reception he expected from Greta. The wedding dinner turns into a free for all and Greta sends Josh packing. As Claire enjoys Paris she gets a series of e-mails from the men who are interested in her. She is surprised when Ethan Grey Wolfe writes her and tells her of his feelings for her. Claire is skeptical because of Ethan's womanizing ways - but she does have hope. Juno and Claire have some pleasant moments but as the week winds down, Juno has no use for Claire anymore and retreats back into his shell. The men who have shown such an interest in Claire as she traveled to Paris begin to back down as she returns back to Quaker Meadows in the Cherokee Qualla Boundary. The Christmas Pot Latch - the time when Claire was sure she would be with someone - comes and goes and Claire is still alone. Her orphanage grandparents - Henry and Louetta Wolfe ask Claire to drive them to their family reunion over in Graham County. Claire agrees to do that and as the year winds down, Claire's opinion of the men in her life and of men in general is dismal. She doesn't count on meeting Henry's handsome grand nephew at the reunion. Claire considers whether to even try again and the year closes with Claire considering the year ahead and what she wants in her life.
