About the Book

An epic fantasy about four friends from modern day Pennsylvania that travel to a fantasy world...and a home that they forgot was theirs. This is book three in the saga. Excerpt from The Lost Guardian The sun was shining when he opened his eyes. Outside the window next to his bed he could make out the oak tree, right outside his window, and birds were singing...it looked to be a beautiful day. The man took in the room, trying to figure out why he couldn't see the alarm clock that was beeping. Nothing looked familiar in the room. A couple of sitting chairs were near the bed, a flat screen TV was mounted on the wall across from his bed. A bed tray next to his bed had the remote for the TV, and a cup with a straw in it. A curtain was hung so as it could totally close in his bed. Turning his head to see if he could make out anything familiar, he saw a woman standing by the head of the bed, writing in a chart, like a nurse. She was reading the info from the monitor he was hooked up to and relaying those numbers to the chart. When she finished, she turned and noticed that he was awake. "Well hello there stranger. Weren't sure you were ever going to come back to us" said the woman. The man looked at the woman and saw the name plate that said her name was Nurse Martin...why did she look familiar? "Where am I?" he asked "and how long have I been here?" "Well to answer your first question, you are at United Memorial Hospital, and you have been out for about two weeks". "Two weeks? I don't remember coming here, wherever here is, and for two weeks I've been 'out' as in a coma?" The nurse could see that the man was becoming riled, so she touched his arm, and told him to relax while she went and got the doctor who would be able to answer all of his questions...and even had a few of his own. Her soothing smile flicked a brief memory, and then it was gone. She told him that she would be right back, with the doctor. "Just try to relax, everything will be fine, you'll see" she said as she turned to leave the room. The man tried to relax...yeah that wasn't happening right away, and he tried to remember what could have brought him to the hospital. He saw bandages on his arms, and felt the bandage on his head. Nothing came to mind, and where was United Memorial, as that name meant nothing to him. The door to his room opened and a familiar looking man walked in, and then the memory was gone. The man looked at the name plate...Dr. Lucian Turner... why does that sound familiar? "I'm told that my least complaining patient is finally awake" began the doctor "and I hear that you have some questions" he said as he began checking pupils, and pulse, as well as the monitor behind the man. "Everything looks normal" the doctor began, "so let's begin with some easy questions, before I tell you what we know so far. Okay?" "First can you tell me your full name, as we have you listed as John Doe?" "My name is Loki Wytehart" replied the man. "Okay, and where is your home Mr. Wytehart? "I live in Kambarington, at Druid Lake, in the Sunnaria region" replied the man. "Okay and what brings you to Ponca City?" asked the doctor. "Where is Ponca City?" "Ponca City is in Oklahoma, northeast of Oklahoma City, and just south of the Kansas border." "What the heck am I doing in Oklahoma?" The doctor smiled, and said "That is what we are trying to find out. Just a few more questions, and then we can chat". Travel with us as we explore this saga, and come visit Druid Lake...the home of the Spirit of the Lake.
About the Author: Born in Saratoga Springs, New York in 1958 ...Graduated from Ballston Spa High school (class of 1976) and getting a late start in writing, I have been a long time role player from the early D&D days. My Kambarington series is based on a fantasy world that I created for a play by email game, and the story line is based on some of the actions from the players, as well as where I wanted the game to advance. The name Loki has long been a favorite of mine since my early gaming days, feeling that the Norse god always got a bad rap, and that even a "trickster" could be a hero, a "Wytehart". Kambarington is a place where the races (elves, dwarves, half elves, and humans) can cohabitate...with some effort. Come watch it mature and grow from a medieval period into a more "modern" period. I encourage all to leave a review, good or bad, to let me know how I did with the series. Reviews can also be left on my author page on www.GoodReads.com. I live in Montoursville, Pa., with my wife Faith and our dog...Cosby
