About the Book

The country now-called Vietnam had been named Dai Viet in the so long standing tradition 939-1802. By 1799 the country Dai Viet had almost been lost into the hands of Bishop de Béhaine and his King Nguyen Anh-who shortly after the Bishop sacrificed his life did turn to the Chinese Thanh that renamed the country Viet Nam in 1804. The successor to King Nguyen Anh hated both names (Viet Nam, Dai Viet) and ordered the country to be called Dai Nam.By 25 August 1883 the country Dai Nam had been lost into the hands of French Colonialists: On grounds of the 1787 Versailles Agreement the 1883 Harmand Agreement forced the French domination upon the country whose name Dai Nam be erased and whose unity be terminated -divided to the three French possessions, the country was renamed: -Cochin-china, French colony under their Governor-Tonkin, French protectorate, their Commissioner governed with the help of an Annamite Advisor-Annam, French semi-protectorate, Annamite King and Court governed under French Supervisor Under force the Chinese Thanh signed the Thien tan Treaty in May 1884, acknowledged the 1883 Harmand Agreement and withdrew all their forces out of the country. On 06 June 1884, also under force, the Annamite Court signed the Patenôtre Agreement, modified and realised at place the 1883 Harmand Agreement: Supervisor Rheinart and Special Envoy Patenôtre ordered the Royal SealAn Nam Quoc vuong to be destroyed at once!On 9 March 1945, the country, lost into Japanese Junta's hands since 1940, was renamed and upgraded Empire of Vietnam to be dissolved on 14 August 1945. After that the Vietnam Wars 1 (1946-1954) and 2 (1955-1975) were fought in Vietnam the country turned battlefield, by two warring sides (Chinese against French, Soviets against Americans): The 'Viet -Dai Viet' people got nothing at all to do with their wars, but Vietnamese did.Vietnamese fighting for the Chinese are Sino-Vietnamese; likewise, there have been lots of Franco-Vietnamese, Americano-Vietnamese ... and so on.This is to ask the self-declared Vietnamese,"What species are you of?"And now, just in case PR China would teach SR Vietnam another lesson, US America could unlikely intervene: No possibility for another Vietnam War - Just another Chinese Punishing War which has just been diverted in the ending of January 2016!This is to point out the last and everlasting Chinese domination over SR Vietnam.
About the Author: There was a miserable born in the enslaved colony Cochin-china of the French Indochina of the French Union. He knows he came a slave from paternal generations of slave labourers recruited of Tonkin by the colonialist Bazin to work in the country's southern plantations. On the other hand, he had overheard of his maternal descent from some Franco-Jewish origin by his sixth year of age when his mother passed away at the beginning of the French re-colonising war over the country. Had there been no World War II, or were France not overrun by the Nazis' Third Reich, the country would not have been lost into Japanese hands to be reunified and upgraded Empire of Vietnam. Were there no Vietnam War I, his parents could not have been separated and his mother not have soon lost her life -leaving him an orphan complete and alone in the new State of Vietnam. Entirely uprooted, he began to live and to study life on his own, amidst 'street corners and market places' then, till the day the French Indochina was dissolved and replaced in the South by the two successive American Republics of Vietnam, in 1956 and 1963 respectively. By 1956, the National Institute of Pedagogy at Saigon had been set up and gradually became more and much more Americanized -offering great national scholarship to would be teachers on a ten year teaching contract, the grant was fairly enough for him to live on and to study lots of things in depth. On the contrary, the Faculty of Pedagogy at Dalat University was in 1960 still fully French Catholic though a private institution -training public teachers on national contract and scholarship that were much more generous! Academic studies there and all time living experiences finally made him quite alien to many things French, American, and Vietnamese. NGO TON LONG (1940-1975) Graduated from the National Institute of Pedagogy, Saigon 1956-1959 Teacher at Tran Hung Dao Secondary school, Dalat 1959-1961 Graduated from the Faculty of Pedagogy, Dalat 1960-1963 Teacher at Nguyen Hue Secondary school, Tuy hoa 1963-1965 Teacher at Pleiku Secondary school, Pleiku 1965-1967 Resigned from the RVN Department of Education, Saigon 1967 Graduated in Library Science, Saigon 1968 Managing Librarian at Tran Hung Dao school, Dalat 1968-1975 University Lecturer, Dalat 1968-1975
