About the Book

12 year old John finds himself lost at home after his entire family boarded an airplane and went from Indianapolis, Indiana to Orlando, Florida to visit Disney World. The family does not realize they have left John asleep in his third floor bedroom until they are halfway to Florida on the airplane. His mother freaks out and tries to get the airplane to turn around but their policy says they can't. Meanwhile back at home in Indianapolis John is just waking up. He has no idea what time it is because the power had went off the night before causing the entire family to oversleep and nearly miss their flight. The family got so busy getting ready that they just assumed all of the kids were present and they loaded into the van and left for the airport in a hurry. John woke up hungry and decided to go downstairs to make his daily glass of chocolate milk. John did not eat anything for breakfast ever but he had a glass of chocolate milk religiously every day. John called his parents names along with his siblings names and no one answered. John thought he would finish his milk and then go look for his family. John walked through every room in the entire house and there was still no sign of anyone in his family. He then ran outside thinking maybe they were outside loading up the van and that is when he noticed that the van was gone. John started to panic and wonder if his family had not left and went on vacation without him. What would John do while his family was gone? Read this thrilling suspenseful book to find out. Here is an excerpt from the book. "The family made it to the airport with only seconds to spare. They ran fast with their luggage and made it to their flight with 5 seconds to spare until the terminal closed. They were all out of breath as they walked onto the airplane and tried to take their seats. They were so frantic that they did not even think about John not being there. Everyone boarded the plane and now the plane was off to Orlando, Florida and the Johnson family was ready to have a relaxing vacation. But it would not be relaxing for very long. In the middle of the flight the family was able to get their breakfast finally. They enjoyed a nice first class meal and were talking with one another. They could not believe that they were able to make it to the airport on time as late as they slept. They were glad they made it and everyone was excited about Disney World. As the kids were chatting and talking about Disney World their mom asked them each what they were most excited about the trip. Each kid had their own unique answer. Then John's mother said "What about you John, what are you most looking forward to at Disney World?" The family became silent as if they were waiting on John to answer. Then it clicked in their brains that they had forgotten to wake John up. Now John's mother started to panic. She could not believe they would leave their son at home. She thought that surely they were the world's worst parents. They had no idea they even left him at home because they were in such a hurry and the power went off overnight."
