About the Book

LOSING MY MISERY, the second collection of poems from acclaimed British singer-songwriter Bobby Long, is at once brash, funny and heartbreaking, exposing the writer's foibles as well as his poignant insights into the human condition. As with his previous collection, LOSING MY BROTHERHOOD, Long lays bare a range of emotions while keeping his wry sense of humor intact. The book is illustrated throughout with 10 striking pen-and-ink drawings created by the author.
About the Author: British singer-songwriter Bobby Long has been writing finely-crafted songs since taking up the guitar at age 17. Born in Wigan near Manchester and raised in the countryside of Wiltshire, he became a fixture at London's open-mic nights while attending university there, graduating with a degree in sound and media for film. The songwriter behind "Let Me Sign," a song featured in soundtrack of the blockbuster film Twilight, Long cultivated a devoted fan base for his intensely personal songs, and after a lengthy initial tour of U.S., Canada and Europe, he relocated to New York City to pursue his music career in 2010. With a repertoire deeply rooted in American folk, blues and country music, Long has created a body of work that comprises three full albums, an EP and two books of poetry, LOSING MY BROTHERHOOD (2012) and the new LOSING MY MISERY. A WINTER TALE, Long's debut album, was released by ATO Records in February, 2011, followed two years later by WISHBONE. In 2014, he launched a PledgeMusic campaign that financed the recording of ODE TO THINKING, his most personal work to date. It was released in 2015 by Nashville's Compass Records. He has toured extensively in the U.S., Europe and the UK as a headliner, support to artists such as Steve Winwood, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Iron & Wine and Brett Dennen and on the bill of major music festivals, among them Bonnaroo, the Dave Matthews Band Caravan, Mile of Music and Austin City Limits. A writer of poetry and prose since the age of 11, Long likes to fill the lengthy stretches of free time on the road with a specific regimen for writing. In addition to the new collection of poetry, he has already amassed an abundance of new songs from which he will create his next album project, due in sometime in mid-2017.
