About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

Best Popular Fiction and Best Novel Adventure or Drama in Spanish winner at the International Latino Book Award 2020.

Gold Medal for Best Book in Spanish Language of the Florida Book Awards.

A gripping story that revives the rich legacy of indigenous Cubans through a mystery starring two women who face the dangerous desires of men during different eras.

A mysterious legacy connects a manuscript written in the 16th century by Juana, a young woman of Jewish origin who travels to Cuba with her father as they are persecuted by the Inquisition, and Alicia Solomon, the language expert who finds herself involved in a dangerous conflict of political interests during Cuba's first democratic elections.

Two women from different centuries, united by a secret that can alter the future of the island. Two heroines who must face the greed and barbarity of those who are incapable of understanding the Earth's true, wise legacy.
